Our Story

Devotional DEVA was born out of both pain and purpose. I’m Darniece Carter—two-time author, empowerment specialist, and motivational speaker known as The She Shifter™.

My story didn’t start with success—it started in North Philadelphia, in the middle of struggle, survival, and searching for more. For years, I wrestled with my own setbacks: financial hardship, heartbreak, and burnout. But in the middle of those storms, I found my strength in God.

Through faith and persistence, I shifted my mindset, my life, and my calling. I began speaking at women’s events, churches, and conferences—helping women see that no matter where they start, they can shift into who God has called them to be.

That journey birthed Devotional DEVA—a lifestyle brand and movement created to help women walk in their faith with power, peace, and purpose.

My journey as a Devotional DEVA began long before I had a name for it. Through seasons of challenge — from personal loss to moments of deep uncertainty — I discovered the power of faith as my anchor. I learned that devotion is more than a daily ritual; it’s a way of living, a way of leading, and a way of loving.

Over time, God placed it on my heart to create tools that would help women like me walk with purpose and clarity. Journals, devotionals, and resources became the bridge between vision and reality. I realized that when we align our hearts with God’s plan, we find the courage to move forward, even when the path isn’t clear.
